A sellout crowd turned out Thursday night for Dancing for our Future Stars, The School Foundation’s annual fundraiser at the SiMT. The event, in its 12th year, topped last year’s performance as attendees enjoyed dinner and then cheered on their favorite dancers in the competition.

Dancing For Our Future Stars raises money for Florence 1 Schools

Some of Florence's most familiar faces danced the night away at the School Foundation's Dancing For Our Future Stars fundraiser. A dozen teams competed on March 21 at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing Technology. Only a few walked away with glittering mirror ball trophies.

Twelve dance teams will be competing. One of the 12 “celebrity” dancers is the Rev. Kippie Brown, senior pastor at Maxwell Baptist Church, and his dance partner, Jaliyah Douglas. They will be dancing the samba to “Pretty Young Thing.”
